Tasting Notes

Appearance Brilliant golden-yellow with greenish highlights. Full-bodied with pronounced viscosity creating elegant legs on the glass.
Nose Intensely aromatic with heady notes of white peach, apricot, and honeysuckle. Layers of orange blossom, jasmine, and gardenia create a floral bouquet. Subtle hints of vanilla, toasted almond, and Meyer lemon zest add complexity.
Palate Rich and lush with a creamy, full-bodied texture. Flavors of ripe peach, apricot nectar, and mango dominate. Mid-palate reveals notes of crème brûlée, toasted hazelnut, and subtle baking spices. Balanced acidity keeps the wine fresh despite its richness.
Finish Long and luxurious with persistent stone fruit and floral notes. Hints of honey and minerality emerge. The old vine character shows through with remarkable depth and concentration while maintaining elegance.

Food Pairing

This aromatic Viognier pairs beautifully with:

Seafood & Shellfish Lobster with drawn butter, pan-seared scallops, crab cakes, or grilled prawns with mango salsa
Poultry & Pork Roast chicken with apricot glaze, pork tenderloin with peach chutney, or duck à l'orange
Asian & Spiced Cuisine Thai curry, Vietnamese pho, Moroccan tagine, or Indian butter chicken

Vintage Notes

The 2021 vintage provided ideal conditions for Viognier in Russian River Valley. Moderate temperatures and morning fog preserved aromatics while allowing for full flavor development. These old vines, planted in 1988, naturally regulate their crop load, producing small clusters with concentrated flavors and intense aromatics. The balanced growing season resulted in a wine of exceptional richness and elegance.

Drinking Window

Peak: 2023-2026
Best enjoyed within 3-5 years of vintage to preserve aromatic intensity and freshness.
