Tasting Notes

Appearance Deep golden-yellow with amber reflections. Rich, full body with pronounced viscosity and oily texture coating the glass.
Nose Explosively aromatic with tropical fruit leading the way - ripe mango, pineapple, and passion fruit. Secondary notes of white peach, apricot jam, and candied orange peel. Intense floral character of honeysuckle, orange blossom, and exotic spices including ginger and cardamom.
Palate Opulent and voluptuous with a creamy, almost unctuous texture. Rich flavors of tropical fruits, stone fruits, and honey dominate. Mid-palate shows layers of butterscotch, toasted coconut, and warm spices. Despite the richness, integrated acidity provides balance and prevents the wine from being cloying.
Finish Extraordinarily long with waves of tropical fruit, honey, and spice. The warm vintage character shines through with concentrated flavors and luxurious texture. A textbook example of Russian River Viognier in a ripe year.

Food Pairing

This aromatic Viognier pairs beautifully with:

Seafood & Shellfish Lobster with drawn butter, pan-seared scallops, crab cakes, or grilled prawns with mango salsa
Poultry & Pork Roast chicken with apricot glaze, pork tenderloin with peach chutney, or duck à l'orange
Asian & Spiced Cuisine Thai curry, Vietnamese pho, Moroccan tagine, or Indian butter chicken

Vintage Notes

2022 was a warm, early vintage in Russian River Valley. The heat accelerated ripening and concentrated sugars, resulting in riper fruit and higher aromatics. Early harvest captured peak aromatics before the heat could diminish them. The old vines' deep root systems accessed moisture even in drought conditions, producing intensely concentrated fruit with exceptional aromatic complexity.

Drinking Window

Peak: 2024-2027
Drinking beautifully now with its expressive aromatics and rich texture.
