Tasting Notes

Appearance Pale to medium golden-yellow with green-tinged highlights. Medium+ body with elegant legs reflecting balanced structure and natural acidity.
Nose Refined aromatics of crisp green apple, fresh pear, and white flowers. Notes of Meyer lemon, wet stone minerality, and subtle oak spice. Delicate hints of honeysuckle, chamomile, and sea spray add complexity and elegance.
Palate Beautifully structured with a silky texture and vibrant acidity. Flavors of green apple, citrus, and stone fruit are perfectly balanced by subtle oak influence. Mid-palate reveals notes of lemon curd, toasted almond, and flint. The cooler vintage produces exceptional freshness and precision.
Finish Clean and refreshing with lingering citrus, mineral, and subtle oak notes. The higher acidity and restrained alcohol create a wine of remarkable elegance and aging potential. This vintage exemplifies the finesse possible in Russian River Chardonnay in cooler years.

Food Pairing

This elegant Chardonnay pairs beautifully with:

Seafood Grilled halibut, seared scallops, lobster bisque, or crab-stuffed sole
Poultry & Light Meats Roast chicken with herbs, turkey breast, veal piccata, or pork chops with apple compote
Cream-Based Dishes Fettuccine Alfredo, risotto with mushrooms, creamy polenta, or butternut squash soup

Vintage Notes

The 2023 vintage was characterized by cooler temperatures and well-timed rainfall, creating ideal conditions for elegant Chardonnay. The extended growing season allowed for gradual flavor development while preserving vibrant natural acidity. Later harvest captured optimal phenolic ripeness with moderate sugar levels. This vintage demonstrates the Dijon Clone 76's ability to produce refined, age-worthy Chardonnay with remarkable freshness and minerality.

Drinking Window

Peak: 2026-2030
Approachable now but the structure and acidity suggest excellent aging potential through 2032.
